Cesme Castle >>> Enter
The Çeşme Castle
which is one of the most important symbols of the city
was ordered to be built by the
Ottoman Sultan Beyazıt
II in 1508. The castle reflects all
characteristics of the
Ottoman architecture. This historical structure
is organized as a concert place during the international
Çeşme Music Competition
made in the township and is displayed to the whole world. |

is a pretty coastal town situated about 70 km from Izmir
in Western Anatolia. Its history can be dated as far
back as 3000BC. Erythrai and Çesmeköy were the first
settlements the central district of Çesme is a more
recent development.

Çeşme Archaeology museum is located in the fort, which
reached today being preserved in a very good way. Çeşme
museum has been opened to the public for the first time
in 1965 as a gun museum with the guns brought from
İstanbul Topkapı Museum and continued its function in
this way until 1984. Since the guns in the museum have
been oxidized and begun to deform due to the excess
humidity in the hall, they have been transferred to
İzmir Archaeology and Ödemiş Museums |

The thermal springs and beaches of Ilıca, which is on
the Çeşme Highway and 5 kilometers away from Çeşme town,
are all located in the Ilıca area, and are among the
world's most interesting and rarely found spa centers of
the world. The temperature of the water in the thermal
springs is around 58°C. The minerals found of
the thermal water include sodium chloride, po assium
chloride and magnesium chloride. |
